Arcadia Art Academy, formerly Michael’s Fine Art Classes, was founded in 1998 by Michael Chen, an animation artist who felt a passion to return to art education after more than ten years working in Hollywood on numerous hits of animation shows. Arcadia Art Academy is one of the long-time private art & design schools operated in Arcadia, CA. It serves the community with the fine art classes tailored for wide range of age groups, from preschoolers to K-12 students, and even includes adults.

Arcadia Art Academy structured its curriculum based on the students’ psychological characteristics and brain development, and uses a student-oriented approach to boost students’ interest through their learning process. Its featured programs encompass Ceramic Art and Kids’ Creative Drawing catered for young age students; Sketching, Watercolor and Oil Painting courses for youth and adults. All classes can be customized based on individual’s skill level and goal, and are designed to help students progressively achieve mastery of the fundamental of visual art.

Our College Application Portfolio Prep Program serves for high school students who will pursue art related majors in college. The rigorous courses in this program well prepare students on mastering the fundamental skills for visual art, learning how to express personality/style thru art design, and how to integrate art into various industrial practices, such as entertainment or marketing, etc. With the intensive training, students will develop a portfolio that can be used for college application, and the same time, become seasoned with a solid foundation for advancement to college study. We have helped many students successfully admitted to the most prestigious art & design schools in the world.
